I founded Graham James Limited in June 2014 through a love of both the Automotive Industry and helping other’s find their dream job. I have worked in the Automotive Industry most of my working career mainly in Finance roles. Before the company was formed, I was a Financial Controller at a Top 10 UK based Dealer Group and Head of Finance for an Automotive Engineering company.
I am often asked why the company is called Graham James. It is named after my late Father. He was my biggest inspiration and he never let me down so this forms part of the company values as I never want to let any client, candidate or member of staff down. Great customer service is very important to me and I am proud of the great testimonials we receive from both clients and candidates.
So why a Recruitment Company? Well, I have been in enough Director meetings to know that a business is only as good as its staff. Good staff are hard to find but very easy to lose if they aren’t looked after correctly. I never really felt that the Agencies I used in previous jobs understood the needs of the business and the type of candidates I wanted to see. With stronger partnership relationships with our clients I thought we could do a better job in securing top talent for their business, so I formed Graham James and the rest, as they say, is history.
We continue to grow across our 3 main sectors being Passenger Car, Commercial Vehicles and Engineering. We have seen several great successes within our team, and I am very proud when they become the ‘go to person’ for their client due to the excellent service provided.
On a personal note, I have been married to Lisa (our Team Administrator) since 1996 (gulp!) and I have two young sons Zack and Leo who I love to bits. I am an avid Arsenal fan and have had my season ticket since the 1993 season. I’ve seen some great times at the club and some not very great times, but I will always be loyal.
If I’m not in London watching football then you can usually find me at a motorsport event be it F1, BTCC, MotoGP, BSB or at Goodwood. I was clearly born with petrol in my veins!
